What the name suggests, Together2Grow is all about cooperation. But cooperation between all links in the chain, from breeder to end customer! Growers Bernard Zuidgeest and Fedor van Veen soon understood that by working together, more can be achieved. The collaboration started in 2006, which culminated in 2010 with the establishment of Together2grow.

The experience and ambition of both men have made the company what it is today. With locations in Poeldijk, Wateringen and Schipluiden, it covers an area of 8.8ha, where Alstroemerias and Florincas are grown year-round. However, Together2Grow also has a 3ha nursery in Ethiopia, where a shipment of Alstroemerias comes from three times a week.

Quality is a high priority. The growing process and quality is therefore closely monitored at Together2Grow. About 40 million stems are harvested on an annual basis and sold worldwide. The company employs 25 permanent workers, but in summer, when there is more production, about 80 additional workers are employed on an indefinite basis.

Originally, the Alstroemeria comes from South America. There they grow in the mountains, where the climate is optimal for this crop. Cool nights determine the bud formation of the Alstroemeria. To achieve this, Together2Grow applies soil cooling. Together with the addition of CO2, this promotes the speed of growth. A plant lasts on average five years, with an average of 400 stems per square metre being pulled in all these years. After that, the crop will be uprooted and new bushes will be planted.

Together2Grow has a wide range of Alstroemerias and Florincas. A Florinca is a spray Alstroemeria and, unlike the 'regular' Alstroemeria, has some smaller flowers. The flower head has many branches, so the flowers grow upwards in a fountain shape in a rich flower crown. The Florinca varieties are harvested with beautiful, open flowers, making the colour immediately visible. As a mono-bouquet they look stunning in a vase, but are also very suitable for use in a bouquet. Apart from being graceful and elegant, the variety also has a long vase life. Florincas are available in various colours all year round.

Due to the close collaboration between Together2Grow and, for example, Royal van Zanten (breeder), new varieties are regularly introduced, available exclusively only at Together2Grow. The varieties grown by Together2Grow can be supplied all year round thanks to the advanced cultivation process and constant quality. Together2Grow continuously tries to respond to the market, by closely monitoring supply and demand. But also by listening to clients, client-oriented solutions can be offered.

So you see....the Alstroemeria is not only a beautifully multi-faceted flower, but also long-lasting and strong at the vase.
