June 24 and 25 NATO summit in The Hague

On June 24 and 25, the NATO Summit will take place in The Hague. Government leaders and heads of state from all over the world will visit the Netherlands on these days, which will have a great impact on daily life here in the Netherlands. Because of the strict and high security requirements, several measures will be taken this week. Highways will be completely or partially closed. This will probably have serious consequences for the transport of flowers and plants to and from many nurseries and the auctions in Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg. The supply and delivery routes around Aalsmeer will all remain open. We will do everything we can to minimize the inconvenience. Please keep in mind that there may be a shortage or no stock for certain products. The auction and the nurseries will also do everything possible to minimize the inconvenience. For example, on Wednesday, June 25, the auction will take place an hour earlier and the nurseries will have their flowers and plants transported to the auction at different times, especially at night.
Please submit your orders for this week as soon as possible, possibly a few days earlier, to avoid disappointment. We hope all goes well, but this letter is to inform you of the impending situation.

For more info on road traffic see also the site of Rijkswaterstaat, as well as the site of Flora Holland
